Malaga Airport News
Malaga Airport was the gateway to the Costa del Sol for over 13 million passengers in 2006. Convieniently located in the heart of the costa it is used by many as their airport of choice for holidays in one of the many famous resorts which the costa has to offer including Marbella, Puerto Banus, Fuengirola and Torremolinos. The airport is currently undergoing a major expansion which includes a new terminal and a second runway which is scheduled for completion during 2010. Exciting new destinations are being introduced which include a new service which is due to start in June 2008 operated by Delta Airlines to New York's JFK airport.

Malaga airport is located 8km southwest of Malaga.
Airport Transportation
The airport has good access to public transport. Trains run to Malaga every 30 minutes from 6.30am - 11.30pm and to Fuengirola via Torremolinos and Benalmadena from the station opposite terminal 2. There is also a bus service from outside terminal 1 to Malaga with links to all of the costal resorts including Marbella, plus inland towns including Ronda and Mijas.
Airport Parking
Short stay car parking is available outside the airport terminals. Terminal 1 also offers long stay facilities for more than four days.
Airport Car Hire
Car hire is availble from within the arrival hall and also via the hire companies main depots located on the perimiter road. Courtesy shuttle buses are available from outside the arrival hall. Many of the international Car Hire companies are represented as well as local independant hire companies such as Helle Hollis who offer an excellect service with competitive prices.

Airport Facilities
Bureaux de Change facilities are availbale within the arrivals hall and departure lounge. Serveral ATM's are convieniently loctated in terminal 2. Bars, restaurants and shopping facilities are located in the Centro Plaza in terminal 1. Terminal 2 has limited Bars and restaurants (cafeteria style) within the Centro Comercial area of the departure lounge. Many shops including a large duty free shop are available on the second floor of terminal 2.
Airport Information
Information desks are located in bothe the arrival and departure areas of terminal 2. Staff wear green jackets for easy identification and are multi-lingual. Airline information desks are also available within both arrivals and departures
